Care Guide

Caring for your dusk silk

Silk is a natural protein fiber that rewards gentle care. Follow these instructions to preserve the feel, sheen, and longevity of your pillowcase.

Washing
Hand wash in cool water (under 30°C / 86°F) with a gentle, pH-neutral silk detergent. Do not use regular laundry detergent, bleach, or fabric softener — these break down the silk protein fibers over time.

Machine Washing
If machine washing, use a mesh laundry bag on a delicate or silk cycle with cold water only. Wash separately from other garments. Never wash with heavy fabrics like denim or towels.

Drying
Never tumble dry. Gently press (do not wring) excess water out by rolling the pillowcase in a clean dry towel. Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight, which causes fading and fiber degradation.

Ironing
Iron on the lowest setting while slightly damp, on the reverse side only. Use a pressing cloth between the iron and silk surface. Do not use steam directly on silk — it can cause water marks.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Fold loosely rather than compressing. Keep away from rough surfaces that can snag the charmeuse weave. Use the original box for long-term storage.

Frequency
We recommend washing every 1–2 weeks for daily use. Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites, so it does not require washing as frequently as cotton pillowcases.
Authenticity Note
"Your pillowcase includes a 2" × 2" silk swatch for burn testing. Real silk burns slowly, smells like burning hair, and leaves a crushable ash. Synthetic fabric melts and smells like plastic."
